James has more than 25 years’ experience working with over 400 different businesses as a strategic advisor at OC&C Strategy Consultants.
During that time, James has focused on advising some of the most progressive businesses in the world across industries including Leisure, Travel, Retail, Gaming, Consumer Services, Luxury and Sports. In the last decade, the digital transformation and globalisation of these businesses has been a constantly recurring theme.
As well as helping businesses to define breakout growth and transformation strategies, James brings deep expertise in pricing and promotion, distribution, operational efficiency, network optimisation and organisation design.

Alongside this strategic and operational expertise, James has played an important role in the growth and scaling of OC&C Strategy Consultants from a small boutique to a global integrated partnership. These roles include Group Commercial Director and International Managing Partner.
James continues to be an active Partner at OC&C, where he sits on the Shareholder Committee, is Chair of the Global Retail and Leisure team, and Chair of OC&C Analytics, the deep data insights business of OC&C.
James has also been an investor in a number of exciting growth concepts – being a founding investor of Flatiron Steak, Milroys of Soho, Forthecreators and The Motorist Organisation, amongst others. He is also an investor and Board Member of Staycity Aparthotels – a leading player in the fast-growing European aparthotel market.
A proud Cornishman, James and his family live in Cornwall, where he also owns a 13th Century pub – The Tinners Arms in Zennor.
