Francesc Casabella is a Founding Member of the bd-capital Operator's Club, is the Chair of TAPTAP Digital and Netex Learning, and sits on the board of Rakit Group.
Francesc has more than 20 years in retail and consumer goods, with proven strategic and operational experience for both family owners and private equity.
Until recently, Francesc was CEO of La Sirena, a leading frozen food retailer brand in Spain, for more than 10 years. He joined the company in 2008 when it was owned by 3i and led a management buyout in 2012, leading a successful turnaround in a complex and distressed situation. He sold the company to OpCapita in late 2014. The company has more than doubled EBITDA in the last three years.
Prior to joining La Sirena, Francesc was Chief Financial Officer and Chief HR Officer at family-owned Condis Supermercats (Food Retailer), with a particular focus on organic growth and acquisitions. Prior to that, he worked as CFO and COO at La Piara (Consumer Products).
Francesc was also a non-executive director of AMSA (utilities) and PUMSA (real estate) in Spain.
Francesc began his professional career at PwC as auditor and M&A specialist, after studying business administration and an MBA at ESADE Business School (Barcelona). He holds a PDG degree from IESE Business School (Barcelona).
